I’ve always been fascinated by dogs – their behavior, nature, and the process of working with them.
For many years, my knowledge was based mainly on personal experience and various training courses – not all of them were top quality, but each helped me better understand my dogs and grow alongside them.
I decided to share my thoughts and experiences, especially those related to living with shepherds, and more recently, with terrier mixes.
While I may not have an impressive list of achievements – I’m currently living with my third, fourth, and fifth dog, and I’ve been surrounded by dogs for over 20 years – I believe I’ve learned quite a lot during that time.
Of course, I still make mistakes, but I continue to expand my knowledge and evolve my approach to raising and training dogs.
Over the years, as I’ve gained more experience, my views on dog training have evolved.
Thanks to participating in various courses and workshops, I’ve had the opportunity to explore both aversive and positive training methods.
This has allowed me to build a conscious and well-rounded approach to working with dogs, based on a broad understanding of different techniques.
That said, everything on my blog reflects my personal thoughts and subjective experiences.
It’s not a typical training blog, even though I once had the opportunity to run a local branch of CANID. You’ll find reflections of a dog owner – someone like you – enriched with theory and stories from our shared life.
If those stories turn out to be helpful to someone, I’ll be truly glad.
If not – feel free to treat them as fictional tales.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
I’ve been involved with dogs since 2002, when Budzik joined my life, followed by Donner, Elza, and Twinsy. Since then, I’ve been constantly learning and growing – taking part in courses, seminars, and trainings that help me better understand our four-legged companions.
Donner, with his behavioral challenges, taught me how to work with aggressive and reactive dogs, which inspired me to start a blog.
Twinsy, on the other hand, introduced me to the world of adoption and the work involved with fearful and undersocialized dogs.
Each of these experiences has enriched my knowledge and given me new perspectives on raising and training dogs.
