A veterinary preparation for dogs, regulating water and electrolyte balance. It is designed to prevent dehydration and supports the maintenance of electrolyte balance. The product is recommended in situations that pose a risk of dehydration and loss of electrolyte balance: diarrhea, physical exertion, severe stress, travel, heat.
Its high palatability allows for effective hydration of animals that are reluctant to drink water, which is often observed in geriatric dogs and during illness.
Scientific studies suggest that the administration of oral electrolyte preparations may have a beneficial effect on the health and condition of dogs.
The use of electrolyte preparations in the form of drinks is an effective support for the treatment of diarrhea and dehydration caused by it. Positive effects have been found in both stress-induced diarrhea and hemorrhagic diarrhea [1,2].
Hydration of working dogs with nutrient-enriched water before exercise suggests that electrolyte supplementation may reduce post-exercise muscle damage and reduce exercise-induced hyperthermia [3,4,5].
Hydration may be particularly important for puppies. Young animals require more fluids than adults and may be more susceptible to rapid development of severe dehydration, low blood sugar, and electrolyte imbalances [6].
Dehydration may also be a problem in older dogs, who are more susceptible to certain medical conditions that contribute to dehydration [7].
Published studies also indicate that dogs are more likely to drink and hydrate when given nutrient-enriched water solutions, especially those enriched with flavorings and fragrances [8].
AAKG is a form of arginine that is used in sports and health supplementation. AAKG has a positive effect on aerobic and anaerobic capacity during exercise [9]. AKG may have an immunoregulatory effect on intestinal inflammation by inhibiting the release of proinflammatory factors [10]. The presence of AAKG in the diet may also improve metabolism and protein synthesis, especially in older individuals [11]. AKG has been shown to improve kidney function and nutrition in patients with chronic renal failure and a decrease in plasma urea concentration [12,13].
L-glutamina is a naturally occurring amino acid that supports the immune system, digestion, and muscle regeneration. It is considered a conditionally essential amino acid in states of catabolic stress, when its stores in the muscles are depleted [14]. Oral administration of glutamine may improve the condition of dogs with intestinal inflammation and even increase the survival of dogs with parvoviral enteritis [15,16].
BCAA, or exogenous branched-chain amino acids, essential for muscle development and body shaping of a sporting dog. They increase the growth of muscle fibers and effectively protect them from catabolic processes [16].
Maltodextrin – an easily digestible source of carbohydrates to supplement energy before, during and after physical exercise. Supports the reconstruction of muscle glycogen [17].
B vitamins are involved in metabolic processes leading to the creation of energy, including the acquisition of energy from amino acids and the use of muscle glycogen. They participate in the process of creating red blood cells and have a positive effect on the transport of oxygen to cells. They contribute to the proper functioning of the nervous system [18].
