In the BARFER Spirulina product, we use spirulina of the Arthrospira plantesis species. It is characterized by a high content of nutrients. At the same time, it is completely safe, because freshwater algae of the Arthrospira genus do not produce neurotoxins.
Spirulina supplements the dog’s diet with a number of amino acids, vitamins and microelements and other biochemically active substances in a highly absorbable form.
It strengthens the immune system and also has antihistamine effects. It is also used in anti-cancer prophylaxis.
Spirulina stimulates an increase in the production of red blood cells and their oxygenation. Due to its effect on the production and activity of blood cells and the high content of iron and folic acid, spirulina supplementation is recommended in cases of anemia.
It improves skin and hair pigmentation, and also neutralizes unpleasant odors emitted by animals. It is an excellent complement to the BARF diet.
Indications
The use of the product is recommended during periods of increased burden on the dog’s body: during exhibitions, physical exertion, rearing young, periodic replacement of the coat and in states of weakened condition, decreased immunity and anemia. The product is also worth using as a natural vitamin and mineral supplement in the case of feeding the dog a home diet.
When to use Spirulina?
It is recommended to use the preparation in the period of increased strain on the dog’s body: during exhibitions, physical effort, rearing young, periodic replacement of the coat and in states of weakened condition, decreased immunity and anemia. Spirulina contains:
Chlorophyll – green plant dye. Stimulates the immune system. It soothes digestive disorders and prevents intestinal inflammation. It increases the production of red blood cells. Due to its effect on the production and activity of blood cells, spirulina supplementation is recommended in cases of anemia. Optimizes the functioning of the pancreas and thyroid. Supports the regeneration of damaged liver cells. It has a positive effect on the work of the heart, also during significant effort. It has antibacterial properties and accelerates wound healing. Neutralizes odors emitted by animals.
Phycocyanin – blue plant dye. It is an antioxidant substance with anti-inflammatory effect. Conducive to the proper digestion of proteins. Supports the work of the liver and kidneys. Improves skin and hair pigmentation.
Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) – a fatty acid extremely important for the body. It supports the development of a young, growing organism. GLA is a precursor to prostaglandins, responsible for the production of hormones that control many important life functions.
Vitamins – spirulina is a source of B vitamins and carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin and others.
Micronutrients – spirulina also contains minerals and elements, including calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron, phosphorus and selenium. They are in the form of chelate – very well absorbed by the body. Iron present in spirulina is characterized by very high bioavailability.
